Snug Harbor is proud to join forces with local defenders of the people, Comunidad Colectiva, to help raise awareness about their efforts while simultaneously coming together as a community to party!

Special guests include Chócala, Quisol, and Sister Mantos (CA)!

*A brief introduction to and presentation from Comunidad Colectiva along with a meet and greet will take place before the concert, beginnging at 730 pm. So please come early, and stay late!

Chócala is a sonic amalgamation of Latin rhythms, rock, and jazz with a touch of tropical psychedelia resulting in an experimental yet approachable sound with an infectious groove. The band is fronted by keyboardist Liza Ortiz who’s powerful lyrics about self-assessment and affirmation are earnest, heartfelt, and entirely in Spanish. Michael Anderson (saxophone), Davey Blackburn (percussion), and Claudio Ortiz (bass) playfully harmonize and explore polyrhythmic soundscapes, offering up novel yet familiar experiences with each song.

Sister Mantos:
When Sister Mantos takes the stage, their psychedelic blend of LATIN BEATS, PUNK ATTITUDE, and FUNK RHYTHMS invigorate the crowd to dance, sing and rejoice.
The band sings songs in Spanish and English about love, QUEER & POC empowerment, and utopias that are free of war and oppression.
Audiences are sent on a spaced out psychedelic road trip and treated to mystical experience of spastic dancing, bumping beats, and POSITIVE ENERGY.
